Meeting ( 9/3/2013)

The meeting was called to order by the President at 8.30 a.m. Guides' activity on that day was the fire lighting test. It was a quite frustrating task because we had to blow the fire into a good blaze to cook the egg enduring a scorching sun. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the process very much and got the satisfaction of finally being able to cook an egg without using stove. At the same time, the rangers were learning how to make steamed chocolate cake. In order to make steamed cake, these are some of the ingredients which are needed to make a steamed cake :
  • 3/4 of 250-gram block of butter
  • 3/4 cup or 225 grams castor sugar
  • 1 cup or 125 grams plain flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

It was just a simple task for rangers as they successfully made mouth-watering steamed cake in approximately 2 hours' time only!! They were guided by Sharifah, Wong Li Xuan and Khor Sher Ann. With the guidance from two teachers : Puan Chew and Cik Elmydania as well as the three helpful committees, the making of steamed cakes was very successful.
