Thinking Day Celebration

On 21st of February, our unit celebrated Thinking Day. Thinking Day is a day celebrated by all guides and scouts worldwide. Thinking Day is a significant day for all guides and scouts and is celebrated on every 22nd  February of the year since 1926. It is a day when they think about their ''sisters and brothers'' in the biosphere, the meaning of Guiding and its global impact. This day is chosen as the Thinking Day because coincidentally the 22nd of February is also a birthday of Sir Robert Louis Stevenson Baden Powell, founder of Scout and Guide Movement and his wife Lady Olave Baden Powell, World Chief Guide. An important international issue is selected as the theme of the year's Thinking Day. The theme selected by World Association of Girl Guides and Gil Scouts for this year is ''TOGETHER WE CAN SAVE CHILDREN'S LIVES'' AND ''EVERY MOTHER'S LIFE AND HEALTH IS PRECIOUS''.

The celebration began at 2.30 p.m. with a horseshoe formation. Our ass. unit leader Han Kah Lok read the message from the Chief Commissioner of Girl Guides Malaysia (PPPM) after saluting the Girl Guide's flag. Then, we lit up our candles and the song for Thinking Day entitled 'This Little Guiding Light of Mine' was sung .

Before the celebration ended, donations were collected for the Thinking Day for charity purposes. The meeting was adjourned at 3. 15 p.m.
