Thinking Day

 

On 25th of February 2012, our unit celebrated Thinking Day. This celebration involved all the Rangers and Guides as well as our teacher adviser, Pn Chew Wai Keng. The purpose of celebrating Thinking Day every year is to appreciate the contributions of Lord Baden and Lady Olave thereby remind all the Rangers and Guides that 22nd of February was the day this organization was established by Lord Baden and Lady Olave. The theme for Thinking Day this year is 'We Can Save Our Planet'. The theme this year aims to embed awareness in all the Rangers and Guides of the importance of efforts to save the planet in any possible way. 

                              

 

 

The meeting began at 2:00p.m. with a horseshoe formation. After saluting the Girl Guides' flag, our unit leader, Choh Pui Kei, and Hor Li Gean,  the secretary of our unit, read the message from the Chief Commissioner of Girl Guides Malaysia (PPPM). After that, each and everyone was given a candle and the candles were lit. The song for Thinking Day entitled 'This Little Guiding Light of Mine' was sung .

The celebration continued with the collection of donations from all the Rangers and Guides. The money collected will be channeled to charitable organizations. The celebration ended at 3:00p.m. Hopefully, Thinking Day will be celebrated in the years to come.
